You can securely log on to and manage your server from a browser without installing any local software.

Local SSH and RDP clients

You can install a client on your local computer to establish a more stable connection. This method also supports key pair logon for Linux servers.

VNC rescue connection

If you cannot connect to a server using conventional methods because of configuration errors, such as firewall errors or an abnormal SSH service, you can use a VNC rescue connection. For more information, see Use a rescue connection to connect to a server.

FAQ

Q1: What is the default username for the server?

  • Linux systems: The default administrator username is root.

  • Windows systems: The default administrator username is Administrator.

Q2: What is the initial password for the server?

The server does not have an initial password. Before you can log on with a password for the first time, you must set or reset the server password in the console.

Q3: Why can't I use a password to log on to a Linux server after attaching a key pair?

After you attach a key pair to a Linux server and restart it, password-based logon is disabled by default. To restore password-based logon, simply reset the password in the console (you can use the original password).
