Choose a suitable remote connection tool
Workbench
You can securely log on to and manage your server from a browser without installing any local software.
To connect to a Linux server, see Connect to a Linux server using Workbench.
To connect to a Windows server, see Connect to a Windows server using Workbench.
Local SSH and RDP clients
You can install a client on your local computer to establish a more stable connection. This method also supports key pair logon for Linux servers.
Linux servers: You can use an SSH client, such as PuTTY, for command-line operations. For more information, see Connect to a Linux server using an SSH client.
Windows servers: You can use a Remote Desktop (RDP/MSTSC) client for graphical management. For more information, see Connect to a Windows server using MSTSC.
VNC rescue connection
If you cannot connect to a server using conventional methods because of configuration errors, such as firewall errors or an abnormal SSH service, you can use a VNC rescue connection. For more information, see Use a rescue connection to connect to a server.
